G7 Hiroshima Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
1. The G7 Hiroshima Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be held in Hiroshima on April 10-11.
2. The Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is scheduled to be attended by the Honorable John F. Kerry, Secretary of State of the United States of America; H.E. Mr. Paolo Gentiloni, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic; the Right Honourable Philip Hammond MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; the Honourable Stéphane Dion, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada; H.E. Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany; H.E. Mr. Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of the French Republic; and H.E. Ms. Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission.
3. The Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be held at the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima in Hiroshima City, and key topics for discussion include pressing issues faced by the international community, such as terrorism and violent extremism, the refugee issue, disarmament and non-proliferation, maritime security, as well as regional situations such as North Korea, the Middle East, and Ukraine.
4. Related events include a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, a wreath laying at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, and a visit to Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island.
