Foreign Minister Kishida to Visit Italy, Vatican and France
1. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, is scheduled to visit the Italian Republic, Vatican City State and the French Republic from March 19 to 21.
2. On March 19 Minister Kishida is scheduled to hold a working lunch with H.E. Hon. Paolo Gentiloni, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, and to have a broad exchange of views on the bilateral relationship between the countries, which are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and the urgent challenges the international community is facing in the run up to the G7 Hiroshima Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
3. Additionally, on the same day Minister Kishida is scheduled to hold a meeting with Mgr. Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See, and exchange views on urgent challenges the international community is facing such as disarmament and non-proliferation, to which both Japan and Vatican attach importance.
4. On the following day, March 20, Minister Kishida is scheduled to hold a working dinner with H.E. Mr. Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, and to have a broad exchange of views on the urgent challenges facing the international community in the run up to the G7 Hiroshima Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
