Speech by Foreign Minister Kishida at the High-Level Talk Session “Quo Vadis United Nations?: The Role of Japan and the UN in the 21st Century”

1. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, is scheduled to make a speech regarding Japan’s UN diplomacy in the afternoon of February 23 at the “Quo Vadis United Nations?: The Role of Japan and the UN in the 21st Century” high-level talk session commemorating the 60th anniversary of Japan’s accession to the United Nations, hosted by Kwansei Gakuin University (to be held at the International House of Japan’s Iwasaki Koyata Memorial Hall (Minato Ward, Tokyo)).

2. The high-level talk session is scheduled to involve an exchange of opinions by Dr. Yasushi Akashi (former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations), Mr. Kenzo Oshima (former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and former Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations), and Dr. Takahiro Shinyo (Vice-President of Kwansei Gakuin University and former Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations).
