The Bombing Incident in Central Istanbul, Turkey

1. In relation to the large number of casualties arising from an incident believed to be a suicide bombing terrorist attack that occurred in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey, on January 12 (same day, local time), Japan extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved families, and expresses its heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured.
2. Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan firmly condemns such act of terrorism. Japan expresses its strong solidarity with the countries concerned, including Turkey.
