“ARF Seminar on Regional Confidence Building and Law of the Sea”
1. The “ARF Seminar on Regional Confidence Building and Law of the Sea” will be held on December 4 in Tokyo.
2. This seminar was officially endorsed as an official event of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) (PDF)
at the 22nd ARF Ministerial Meeting in August, Japan, Viet Nam, and India will co-chair the seminar. Prominent scholars and experts of international law are invited from Japan and abroad as guest speakers for this seminar, and government officials from ARF member countries and regions will exchange opinions on the international legal regime in a maritime area pending delimitation. and the role international law can play in confidence-building.
3. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other organizations will attend the seminar from Japan, Mr. Hitoshi Kikawada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will deliver an address in the opening session.
