The Government of Japan congratulates the National League for Democracy (NLD), which is chaired by Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, on its victory, and respects the efforts of all the concerned parties that guided this election to success, including the people of Myanmar, the candidates of all the participating parties, and Mr. Tin Aye, Chairman of the UEC.
3. The successful completion of this general election is evidence of the significant outcomes achieved through the political reforms carried out by H.E. Mr. Thein Sein, President of Myanmar.
