Condolences of Prime Minister Abe and Foreign Minister Kishida on the stampede accident of Muslim pilgrims near Makkah, Saudi Arabia

1. A stamped accident, which has occurred near Makkah, Saudi Arabia on September 24, caused grievous loss of many Muslim pilgrims’ precious lives.

2. On behalf of the Government of Japan, H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Fumio Kashia, Minister for Foreign Affairs, sent messages to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and H.E. Mr. Adel Bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, respectively, expressing their deep condolences to those who lost their lives in the incident, their bereaved families and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and prayers for the early recovery of those who were injured.
