The Second Japan.–U.S. Energy Strategic Dialogue

1. On September 17, Japan and the United States held the Second Energy Strategic Dialogue in Tokyo.
2. The Japanese side was led by Ms. Naoko Saiki, Director-General for Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Toshihiko Fujii, Director General for Natural Resources and Fuel Department, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as well as a representative from MOD. The U.S. participants were led by Ms. Mary Burce Warlick, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Energy Resources, U.S. Department of State, and Mr. Johnathan Elkind, Assistant Secretary for International Affairs U.S. Department of Energy.
3. In the meeting, recognizing the current energy circumstances, the two delegations held discussions on topics including energy security and Japan-U.S. energy cooperation.
