1. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso visited Singapore from 8 to 10 August 2015 and attended Singapore’s National Day Parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of its independence that was held on 9 August 2015 on behalf of the Government of Japan.

2. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso attended a Lunch hosted by President Tony Tan and a Reception hosted by Prime Minister Lee Hsein Loong, and witnessed the National Day Parade, together with Heads of State and Government and other foreign dignitaries from more than 20 countries.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso greeted and briefly conversed with Singapore’s key figures including President Tony Tan, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Emeritus Senior Minister and Senior Advisor to the Monetary Authority of Singapore Goh Chok Tong and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and with foreign Representatives including Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuam of Brunei His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, H.R.H.
