Japan’s Friendship Ties Program “KAKEHASHI Project” Students group from Columbia University in the United States to Visit Japan

1. From May 18, 50 students from Columbia University in the United States will visit Japan under Japan’s Friendship Ties Program “KAKEHASHI Project”.

2. For the purpose of promoting a better understanding of Japan, students group from Columbia University will visit Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Shiga, where they will visit local government and company and interact with people from local community and universities. This will provide the students with an opportunity to gain a wider knowledge of Japan, from the latest in advanced technology to traditional culture.

3. Through “KAKEHASHI Project” the Government of Japan expects students of Columbia University to experience various attractions of Japan and actively share the attractiveness of Japan, as well as Japan’ diplomatic polices with the people of the United States, after they return home.
