1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will co-host the FY2014 International Workshop on Acceptance of Foreign Nationals and Their Integration into Japan “Foreign Nationals and Foreign Human Resources in the Field of Medical Care - Beyond Language and Cultural Barriers -” with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Katsushika City at the Iris Hall of Katsushika Symphony Hills on February 25.

2. In this international workshop, Mr. Yasuhide Nakayama, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to deliver an opening address. Under the theme of “Foreign Nationals and Foreign Human Resources in the Field of Medical Care - Beyond Language and Cultural Barriers -”, experts from inside and outside of Japan will discuss the following three topics: “Desirable medical care in the era of globalisation and ‘medical care for foreigners’”, “Medical interpreters”, and “The future direction of management of foreign human resources in the medical sector”.
