Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Situation in Burkina Faso

1. Japan continues to closely follow the current situation in Burkina Faso after the resignation of President Blaise Compaore.
2. The Government of Japan calls on all the actors concerned to work in a spirit of responsibility to save a situation as soon as possible in peaceful manner and urges strongly for a rapid restoration of constitutional order including the holding of democratic Presidential elections.
