Holding of the Third Meeting of the Japan-Austria Committee for Issues of the Future and an Open Symposium

1. The third meeting of the Japan-Austria Committee for Issues of the Future and an open symposium will be held on October 27 and 28.

2. Japanese Committee members are Mr. Hidenori Tsutsui, advisor for Toyota Tsusho (Japanese chair); Mr. Kazuto Uchida, Executive Officer and General Manager of Credit Policy and Planning Division, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd.; Associate Professor Kosuke Aoki, Graduate School of Economics, The University of Tokyo; and Mr. Ichiro Kutani, Assistant Director of Strategy Research Unit, the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan. Austrian Committee members are Mr. Max Kothbauer, Vice President of the Austria National Bank; Prof. Wolfgang Mazal, The University of Vienna; Mr. Stefan Hoffinger, Managing Director Hoeffinger Solutions GmbH; Dr. Peter Mooslechner, Executive Director of the Austria National Bank; Prof. Stefan Schleicher, the University of Graz; and Dr. Ulrich Schuh, Director of Research at Ecoaustria. In addition, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs will participate.

3. During the open symposium on October 27, the participants will exchange opinions on the topic of “ Recovery on a Sustainable Path-European and Japanese Economic Policies in Comparison.”

4. In the committee meeting on October 28, the participants will exchange opinions on the issues of “Migration and Integration” and “Energy Security.”
