First Meeting of Japan-EU Cyber Dialogue

1. On Monday 6 October, the First Meeting of Japan-EU Cyber Dialogue will be held in Tokyo. The launch of the Dialogue was decided at the 22nd Japan-EU Summit in May 2014, following the Japan-EU discussions on cyber issues.

2. Japan and EU will share experiences, exchange views and discuss possible cooperation on issues such as general overview of measures, governmental structure and strategy, norms, rules and principles regarding cyber space, measures against cybercrime and capacity building.

3. Co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Akira Kono, Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Ms. Joelle Jenny, Director for Conflict Prevention and Security Policy, European External Action Service, this Dialogue will be attended by officials from National Information Security Center, National Security Secretariat, Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, National Police Agency and relevant participants from the European Union.
