Summary of the Sixth Round of Negotiations for the Japan-Colombia Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

1. From July 14 to 18, the Sixth Round of Negotiations for the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and Colombia was held in Bogota, the capital.

2. From the Japanese side, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from other relevant ministries attended the meeting. From the Colombian side, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and representatives from other relevant ministries attended the meeting.

3. In this round of negotiations, progress has been achieved in such areas as Trade in Services, Competition, Government Procurement, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), Cooperation, Rules of Origin, Customs Procedures and Trade in Goods (Rules).

4. Both sides decided to work on scheduling the dates of the seventh round of negotiations through diplomatic channels.
