Negotiations on a Japan-Mexico Nuclear Cooperation Agreement

1. On July 9 and 10 (local time) in Mexico City, negotiations on a Japan-Mexico nuclear cooperation agreement will be held.
2. The round will be attended from the Japanese side by: Mr. Isao Fukushima, Senior Coordinator, International Nuclear Energy Cooperation Division, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Head of the Japanese Delegation) and officials concerned from relevant ministries; and from the Mexican side by officials concerned from relevant ministries,such as the Ministry of Energy.
3. In this round, discussions will be held on the contents of the agreement, which is aimed at promoting cooperation between Japan and Mexico in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
