Japan’s financial contribution to an OSCE project on national dialogue in Ukraine
1. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is going to conduct a project conducive to the promotion of national dialogue and protection of minority rights by sending relevant experts to Ukraine, especially in its Eastern and South-Eastern parts including the Crimean Peninsula. The Government of Japan decided to make a financial contribution of 100,000 euros to the project whose total cost is estimated to be 250,000 euros.
2. Japan strongly expects that the situation in Ukraine will be settled in a peaceful manner, and to this end, Japan believes that a dialogue for easing the tension and the promotion of transparency are crucial. In this perspective, Japan highly values a series of the OSCE efforts regarding the situation in Ukraine and decided to make the financial contribution to this project that particularly focuses on national dialogue.
3. The Government of Japan expects that the project will contribute to the promotion of a dialogue and confidence-building among the parties concerned regarding the situation in Ukraine.
