Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the large-scale demonstrations in Thailand

1. Japan is closely following the situation in Bangkok, the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, where large-scale demonstrations have been taking place with some demonstrators occupying government buildings.
2. Japan encourages all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from violence. Japan strongly hopes that, through dialogue between the parties concerned, normalcy will be restored soon.
