The 8th Japan-Sweden Joint Committee Meeting on Science and Technology Cooperation took place on November 14 in Tokyo.

  1. The Joint Committee Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Ito Shigeki, Deputy Director-General of the Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Dr. David Edvardsson, Director General of the Division for Research Policy, Ministry of Education and Research of Sweden. Sweden's Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Mr. Pereric Högberg, also participated in the event. Attendees included a range of representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies of both countries.
  2. The meeting provided an opportunity for the both sides to share the recent development of national science technology and innovation policies and exchange views on the current situation and future directions of bilateral collaborations.
