2022 IAEA Marine Monitoring

- As a part of IAEA Marine Monitoring: Confidence Building and Data Quality Assurance, experts from the IAEA Marine Environmental Laboratories will visit Japan from 7th to 14th November 2022 and confirm collection of seawater and sediment samples in the vicinity of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) and fishery products in Fukushima Prefecture.
- For the enhancement of further transparency, independent third-party laboratories will participate in this year's Marine Monitoring as in previous years, and this year from Republic of Korea and Finland.
- The event is part of a project following the recommendations made on marine monitoring in a report by the IAEA in 2013 related to the decommissioning of FDNPS.
