The 5th Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue

On 31 (Monday) October and 1 (Tuesday) November, the fifth Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, co-chaired by Mr. Masahiro Kawasaki, Deputy Director-General, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Professor Robin Grimes, FCO Chief Scientific Advisor .
The Dialogue discussed a range of subjects relevant to nuclear policy including nuclear research and development, decommissioning and clean up, and nuclear safety and regulation.
Participants reaffirmed the usefulness of sharing each other's efforts and experiences, and shared the intention to continue UK-Japan cooperation in civil nuclear energy area.
After the dialogue, Japan and UK jointly issued the Summary (PDF)
of Discussions.
