Foreign Minister Kishida's Attendance at ASEAN-related Foreign Ministers' Meetings, and Visit to Indonesia

1. Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida will visit the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Nay Pyi Taw) and the Republic of Indonesia（Jakarta）for the period from August 8 to 12.
2. In Nay Pyi Taw，Foreign Minister Kishida will attend ASEAN-related Foreign Ministers' Meetings (the Japan-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting, Japan-Mekong Foreign Ministers' Meeting, and Friends of the Lower Mekong Ministerial Meeting).
In these meetings the foreign ministers will discuss such issues as strengthening Japan-ASEAN cooperation, regional cooperation including cooperation among ASEAN countries, as well as regional and global issues. Foreign Minister Kishida will actively express Japan's views and confirm Japan's cooperation with the participating countries.
The Foreign Minister will also have bilateral meetings with his counterparts on this opportunity.
3. In Jakarta, Foreign Minister Kishida will exchange views with Indonesian important persons including next administration members about the bilateral relationship between Japan and the Republic of Indonesia.
