Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Bombing in Mansoura, Egypt

1. Japan deeply deplores the bombing that occurred in the north of Egypt, Mansoura, on the early morning of December 24 (the afternoon of December 24 Japan time), which hit the security directorate building and caused casualty. Japan extends its heartfelt sympathy to those injured and bereaved families.
2. Acts of terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan resolutely condemns terrorism in all its forms.
3. Japan hopes that public security in Egypt will be stabilized promptly and that a political process moves forward in a way wide range of groups participate.
