Issuance of Multiple Entry Visas for Nationals of Papua New Guinea

1. The Government of Japan has decided to begin issuance from November 25, of multiple entry visas for short-term stay to nationals of Papua New Guinea (ordinary passport holders) who reside in their home country. 
 
2. For the purpose of enhancing the relationship between Japan and Pacific Islands Countries, the Government of Japan made an announcement of introducing, on a bilateral basis, a new type of multiple entry visas for short-term stay for Pacific Islands Countries’ travelers in the Okinawa ‘Kizuna’ Declaration adopted at the sixth Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM6) held in May 2012. This decision was made as a follow-up to the Declaration.
 
3. The further development of Japan-Papua New Guinea exchange is expected as a result of the issuance of multiple entry visas, including increases in the number of tourist from Papua New Guinea who visit Japan and the enhancement of the ease of business transactions between the two countries.

Recipient:Those who have fulfilled certain conditions and who have an ordinary Machine-Readable passport (MRP) or an ordinary IC passport in compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards or an ordinary IC passport.
Period of stay:15 days
Terms of validity:Up to three years
