Dispatch of Election Observer Mission to Nepal for the election to the second Constituent Assembly

- Upon the invitation of the Government of Nepal, the Government of Japan has decided to dispatch an election observer mission to Nepal from November 17 to 22 to support the fair implementation of the election of the second Constituent Assembly, which is scheduled for November 19. The mission will be headed by Mr. Masashi Ogawa, Japanese ambassador to Nepal, and will consist of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Nepal as well as an outside expert.
- In addition to observing the casting and counting of votes, the mission will exchange opinions and information with the Election Commission of Nepal and election observer missions from other countries.
