The Terrorist Attacks in Afghanistan(Statement by Press Secretary Takeshi Osuga)

- Japan expresses its deep concern over the continuing terrorist attacks in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. In particular, Japan is shocked and saddened by the suicide attack on August 15 at an education center in a community in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, which caused numerous deaths and injuries, who were mainly young people responsible for the future of Afghanistan. Japan expresses its condolences to the victims and the bereaved families. Japan also wishes for the earliest recovery of those who were wounded.
- Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan firmly condemns such act of terrorism.
- Japan expresses its strong solidarity with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and its people, and Japan will continue to support for the stability of Afghanistan in the fields of development and security, while working closely with the international community.
