Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Conclusion of the National Dialogue in the Yemeni Republic

1. The Government of Japan welcomes the conclusion on January 25 of the National Dialogue in the Yemeni Republic, which had been convened with broad participation from all levels of Yemeni society.
2. The Government of Japan praises the efforts of the Government of Yemen and Yemeni citizens in tenaciously engaging in the National Dialogue, along with expressing strong expectation that the political transition process will proceed without interruption toward the formulation of a new constitution and the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections, and that domestic stability will be recovered promptly.
3. The Government of Japan will continue to actively support nation-building by the Government of Yemen.
