Telephone Talk between Japanese and Jordanian Foreign Ministers

On February 1st, from 5:15pm for approximately 15 minutes, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida had a telephone talk with Mr. Nasser Judeh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The outline of the talk was as follows.
- Foreign Minister Judeh expressed his deep condolence to the families of Mr. Haruna Yukawa and Mr. Kenji Goto and to the people of Japan.
- In response, Foreign Minister Kishida expressed his appreciation for the ungrudging support extended by the Government of Jordan in responding to the hostage incident of Japanese nationals in Syria. At the same time, Foreign Minister Kishida said Japan was prepared to fulfill its responsibility towards the peace and stability of the Middle East including Jordan.
- The two foreign ministers agreed to continue working closely together.
