Message by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Wakabayashi on the Terrorist Bombing in Lebanon

On August 27, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Kenta Wakabayashi conveyed the following messages to H.E. Ambassador Extraordinarily and Plenipotentiary Mr. Mohammed El Dib, concerning terrorist bombing incidents in the Southern Beirut on August 15 and Tripoli on August 23.
1. Japan is deeply shocked and outraged by these terrorist bombing incidents which caused many deaths and casualties.
2. No act of terrorism can be justified for whatever reason or purpose. Japan firmly condemns such act of terrorism.
3. Japan expresses its condolences to the bereaved families and its heartfelt sympathy to those injured.
4. Japan supports the position of H.E. President of Republic of Lebanon General Michel Sleiman and other political leaders who call for restraint between all concerned parties in order not to escalate the level of conflict by these terrorist bombing incidents.
