The launch of a rocket from Gaza

- Japan strongly condemns the launch of a rocket which struck the northern suburbs of Tel Aviv, causing injury to civilians. Japan expresses its heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured, and is deeply concerned about the rise of tension in the surrounding area.
- Japan firmly believes that the issues the two parties, Israel and Palestine face, cannot by any means be resolved by violence, and that they can be resolved only through efforts of both sides to build mutual trust and through negotiations between them. The recent rocket launch runs against such efforts. Japan urges all parties concerned to exert their maximum efforts toward resuming the peace negotiations.
