Peace Agreement with armed groups in the Central African Republic
(Statement by Foreign Press Secretary Takeshi OSUGA)

  1.  Japan welcomes the Peace Agreement in the Central African Republic signed on February 6 in Bangui, Central African Republic, between the Government of the Central African Republic and armed groups, and appreciates the efforts of the relevant countries and organizations, including the African Union Commission (AUC), the Economic Community of the Central African States (ECCAS) and the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
  2.  Japan strongly hopes that the Peace Agreement will further promote reconciliation between the Government of the Central African Republic and armed groups and lead to peace and stability in the Central African Republic.
  3.  Japan will continue to support the efforts towards the peace and stability in the Central African Republic in partnership with the international community.
