Japan’s Contributions to UNESCO

- The objective of the voluntary contribution of Japan to UNESCO is to promote projects in line with the original purpose of UNESCO, by strategically implementing projects in various specialized areas under UNESCO’s mandate, such as education, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, culture and communication and information, in such a way as to provide Japan’s expertise in the form of technologies and knowledge.
- Since its establishment in 2018, the total amount of Japan’s contribution to UNESCO as of October 2023 is approximately 10.82 million USD. (the exact amount is 18,205,563 USD), or approximately 2.1 billion JPY (the exact amount is 2,118,384 thousand JPY).
