On Saturday, November 11th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 39th International Issues Presentation Contest (at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also streamed online) This year, in light of that the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, we invited participants under the theme of "My Proposal: Our Future ASEAN-Japan Relations on the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation" and received 77 applications from individuals and teams. 6 Finalists for the Final Round were selected. This time, international students from ASEAN countries also participated.

At the beginning of the competition, Foreign Affairs Press Secretary KOBAYASHI Maki encouraged the participants, followed by a video message from KIYA Masahiko, Ambassador of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN. Following the opening ceremony, each finalist gave a presentation, presenting specific proposals from a variety of perspectives. The finalists were then reviewed by the following judges:

Mr. ISHII Masafumi Chairman of the Jury (Special adjunct professor of the Faculty of Law, Gakushuin University/ Former Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia); Ms. DODEN Aiko (Senior Director, World News Division, NHK WORLD Department, NHK); Ms. KUBOTA Yuka (Senior Executive Office, ASEAN-JAPAN CENTRE).
