Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Visit to Japan Creative Centre: Opening Ceremony for “Beauty of KŌGEI : Art Crafts in Japan” exhibition


1. On May 31, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Japan Creative Centre (JCC) for his first time and attended the opening ceremony for the “Beauty of KŌGEI: Art Crafts in Japan” exhibition, together with H.E. Mr. Tan, Minister of State of Singapore for Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. Following greetings and tape-cutting ceremony, they appreciated the KŌGEI art works, including those of three Living National Treasures.

This exhibition showcases Japan’s traditional crafts and spirit of craftsmanship, and will be held as the first step in the “WA Project: Toward Interactive Asia through Fusion and Harmony”, arts and cultural exchange project that Prime Minister Abe announced at the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit Meeting last December .
