The Sixth International MANGA Award Presentation Ceremony

- The Sixth International MANGA Award Presentation Ceremony was held at Iikura House on Friday, February 8, 2013. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Fumio Kishida, who chairs the Executive Committee, and Ms. Machiko Satonaka, who chairs the Jury, presented the certificates and trophies for one Gold Award-winning MANGA and three Silver Award-winning works.
- Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Kishida delivered a speech and stated, "It is our hope that the International MANGA Award will help numerous people around the world to recognize the variety of attractions of MANGA and consequently to feel close ties to Japan. We also wish all of you here continued success. Meanwhile, we will continue to support the Japanese contents industries, including MANGA, in order that they can play a principal role in our export business."
- Mr. Kosin Jeenseekong (from Thailand), Winner of the Gold Award, expressed in his speech his gratitude to all the people involved and commented with joy, "I have been a great fan of Japanese MANGA since my childhood. I never dreamed that my MANGA works, which I drew in the Japanese style, would be recognized in Japan and win an award like this."
- Numerous famous MANGA artists and publishing figures, including Jury members Ms. Seika Nakayama, Mr. Hiroyuki Yoshitome, and Mr. Koichi Yuri, attended the ceremony. They exchanged views with the winners in the reception after the ceremony.
- The winners attended the ceremony in Japan under the invitational program of the Japan Foundation. During their stay, they also visited publishing companies and MANGA-related establishments.
