Special Advisor to the Prime Minister OUE’s Visit to Hawaii
From February 26 to February 28, Mr. OUE Sadamasa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, visited the Island of Oahu, the State of Hawaii, the United States of America. The overview of the visit is as follows:

1. Special Advisor OUE met with U.S. military officials including Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), Admiral Stephen T. Koehler, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (PACFLT) and General Kevin B. Schneider, Commander, U.S. Pacific Air Force (PACAF), to exchange views on Japan-U.S. security cooperation and regional situations.
Governor Josh Green, State of Hawaii
2. Special Advisor OUE also paid a courtesy call on Governor Green to exchange views on Japan-Hawaii relations, and met with experts from Daniel K. Inouye, Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) and Pacific Forum to exchange views on Japan-U.S. relations, particularly foreign and security policy as well as regional situations and people-to-people exchanges.

3. In addition, Special Advisor OUE visited the Ehime Maru Memorial, the USS Arizona Memorial to lay a wreath and offer a silent prayer. Special Advisor OUE also visited the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, and the U.S. Marine Corps base in Kaneohe.
