Special Advisor to Prime Minister Nagashima’s Visit to the United States of America

Mr. NAGASHIMA Akihisa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister visited Washington D.C., the United States of America from November 20 to 24. The overview of the visit is as follows.
- On the occasion of this visit, Special Advisor to Prime Minister Nagashima met with U.S. government officials such as the Honorable Kurt Campbell, Deputy Secretary of State, Ms. Amanda J. Dory, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and Dr. Mira Rapp-Hooper, Special Assistant to the President and NSC Senior Director to exchange views on Japan-U.S. relations, particularly foreign and security policy, and regional affairs.
- In addition, Special Advisor to Prime Minister Nagashima met with members of the U.S. Congress and experts such as Senator Rick Scott, Senator Bill Hagerty, Representative Michael McCaul (House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair), Representative Young Kim (House Foreign Affairs Committee, Indo-Pacific Subcommittee Chair), Representative Jill Tokuda and Dr. Kenneth R. Weinstein, Japan Chair, Hudson Institute to exchange views on Japan-U.S. relations, focusing on foreign and security policy as well as regional situations.
