Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Kishida by a Delegation of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-Japan Business Council Representatives

On October 4, commencing at 10:40 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-Japan Business Council, including Ms. Suzanne P. Clark, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Douglas Peterson, Chairman of the U.S.-Japan Business Council. The overview is as follows:
- At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Kishida welcomed their visit to Japan at the occasion of the 60th Japan-U.S. Business Conference, and stated that the robust trust between Japan and the United States relies on the support from the business communities of both sides, asking for their continued cooperation for the Japan-U.S. relationship.
- Prime Minister Kishida also pointed out that Japan has been the world's largest investor in the U.S. for four consecutive years, and expressed his hope for U.S. investment in Japan through Japan's efforts to become an asset management center.
- In response, President Clark and other participants on the U.S. side expressed their appreciation for Prime Minister Kishida’s leadership and their desire to continue to make efforts to strengthen the U.S.-Japan economic relationship.
