PM Takaichi delivering message

On October 24, Ms.TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, delivered a following video message at the 13th Mt. Fuji Dialogue.

I am TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan.

I would like to extend my congratulations on the occasion of the 13th Mt. Fuji Dialogue.

Over the years, the Mt. Fuji Dialogue has made significant contributions to promoting intellectual exchange between Japan and the United States and strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance, serving as the premier forum for dialogue among eminent figures from Japan and the United States.

The Japan-U.S. Alliance is the cornerstone of Japan's foreign and security policy and serves as the foundation for peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and, by extension, the international community as a whole.

We held two Japan-U.S. summit meetings just last month. Building on the close coordination and strong relationship of trust between the leaders of Japan and the United States, we will further strengthen the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance and elevate the Alliance to new heights.

Together with the United States, our ally, and other like-minded countries, we will further develop a Free and Open Indo-Pacific and steadfastly safeguard peace and prosperity in the region.

At a time when the international order is experiencing a period of great instability, it is more important than ever for Japan and the United States to pool their wisdom and tackle common challenges.

I hope that the candid exchanges of views at the Mt. Fuji Dialogue will serve as a driving force in forging the future of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.

In closing, I wish all of you continued success in your endeavors.
