Courtesy Call on Special Advisor to the Prime Minister OUE by Asian American Youth
On March 17, commencing at 10:30 a.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. OUE Sadamasa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, received a delegation of Asian American youth, who was invited to Japan through the KAKEHASHI Project, one of the Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs. A summary of the courtesy call is as follows:
- At the outset, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister OUE welcomed the delegation, and noted that the Japan-U.S. Alliance serves as the cornerstone of peace and stability in the international community. He expressed his hope that, through the various exchanges during this visit and their experiences in Aomori, the members of the delegation would deepen their understanding of Japan and strengthen their ties with the country. He further encouraged them to share their experiences from this visit with those around them upon their return home and to apply what they had learned to their own futures.
- The group expressed their gratitude for the invitation and shared their impressions of this visit to Japan. There was also a lively exchange of views, with the delegation posing questions on topics such as leadership and Japan-U.S. relations.

The purpose of KAKEHASHI Project is to increase the interest in and understanding of Japan among outstanding young leaders in the North American region. By having them engage in activities that make the most of their visit experience, it aims to foster supporters and experts of Japan. The project promotes participants' understanding of Japan's politics, economy, society, culture, history, and foreign policy in accordance with their areas of expertise and interest and enhances their external communication about Japan.
