On September 30th, commencing at 2:00 p.m., for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Japan. The overview is as follows.

  1. Prime Minister Kishida comprehensively reviewed the progress of Japan-U.S. relations with Ambassador Emanuel and they exchanged their views on common challenges that both countries share.
  2. Ambassador Emanuel commended Prime Minister Kishida’s contribution to developing Japan-U.S. relations, strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance and addressing challenges that the international community is facing.
