Courtesy Call on Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI Yoshimasa by Hon. Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, U.S.A.

On July 11, commencing at 2:30 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from Hon. Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, and his delegation during their visit to Japan. The summary of the courtesy call is as follows.
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Governor Abbott and his delegation to Japan, and expressed his sympathy for the damage caused by Hurricane Beryl to Texas and his condolences to the victims and their families. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi also expressed his wishes for the earliest possible recovery of the affected areas.
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi emphasized the importance of the close economic relationship between Japan and Texas, and expressed his desire to continue to strengthen this excellent economic partnership. In response, Governor Abbott set forth efforts of the State of Texas for improving its investment environment and expressed his hope for further strengthening of the bilateral economic ties, including increased investment by Japanese companies.
- They confirmed their intention to work to further strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Japan as well as between Japan and Texas.
