Foreign Minister IWAYA visited a booth of traditional crafts with Governor Nitta of Toyama Prefecture

On October 15, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Governor of Toyama Prefecture co-hosted a reception “-Sushi. Now That's Toyama Sharing (Osusowake) Our Bountiful Food, Culture, Nature, and Industry with the World” at the Iikura Guest House, attended by approximately 170 people, including diplomatic corps to Japan. The reception featured booths introducing local food including sushi, Japanese sake, tourism, traditional crafts, well-being initiatives, recovery and reconstruction efforts following the earthquake, as well as Owara Kaze no Bon dance performance on stage to promote diverse charms of Toyama Prefecture.

On September 30 and October 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan conducted a Diplomats’ Study Tour together with Matsuura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, under the theme of “Home of Aji Fry × Underwater Archaeology Sanctuary – An Experience Tour of Local Attractions”. The diplomatic corps participated in this tour discovered, experienced and tasted the various charms of Matsuura City.

Tied by the Moai: Stories of the bond between Easter Island and Japan

Despite the vast distance across the Pacific Ocean, Easter Island in Chile has a longstanding connection with Japan. This enduring bond is embodied in the Moai statues that can be seen in various areas of Japan. The Moai, guardian deities of the people of Easter Island also serve as symbols connecting the hopes for the future of both Japan and Chile. The ariticle introduces the friendship and cooperation that various regions in Japan have built with Easter Island through disaster recovery efforts and cultural exchanges.

Miyazaki City Tourism PR Event - Promoting the Charms of Miyazaki!

On July 19, Miyazaki City held a tourism PR event in Qingdao, China, targeting local travel agencies. In addition to providing tourism information, the event featured a standing reception where attendees enjoyed Miyazaki's famous dishes, such as Chicken Nanban and shochu, showcasing the city's culinary appeal.
