Holding "Briefing session for Yamanashi's charms" in Indonesia


On July 16, "Briefing session for Yamanashi's charms" was held by Yamanashi Prefecture and the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia in ambassador's residence of Japan in Indonesia. At this session, nature, scenic spots, foods, festivals, etc. in Yamanashi prefecture were introduced and the event livened up when a sign of the departure of "Shingen-ko festival" echoed through the event site. Peaches and grapes, which are grown by Yamanashi's high quality water and have been started exporting to Indonesia on a trial basis since this year, attracted many people in the site.
Holding Islands Leaders Meeting and Governors

On May 17, "Islands Leaders Meeting and Governors" was held among 14 local governments of Japan and 16 countries and regions of Pacific Island Country. Going forward, the promotion of exchanges is expected, utilizing the features of each region in a wide range of fields such as agriculture, fishery, tourism, culture, sports, disaster risk reduction and so on.
Local Partnership Cooperation Project Presentation Meeting in MOFA

On August 3, "Local Partnership Cooperation Project Presentation Meeting in MOFA" was held at an international conference room in MOFA. This meeting was for the working-level staff of prefectures and ordinance-designated cities, help them to understand local partnership cooperation projects of MOFA.

Rice Terraces of Kitaimogawa
Sanjo City in Niigata Prefecture
You can find beautiful scenery of paddy field across Japan. Especially, rice Terraces of Kitaimogawa is located at the foot of Mt. Awagatake, in Sanjo-shi, Niigata, paddy fields of this region are designated as one of "the 100 Best Terraced Paddy Fields of Japan" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Landscape of the mountain village, created naturally and artificially, has a nostalgic feel. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of each season: fawn lily blooms against a background of Mt. Awagatake in spring, and in summer so does rosy lily, the official city flower of Sanjo. The paddy fields produce nationally renowned rice brand "Koshihikari".
