On February 21, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Taipei Office held the "2022 Emperor's Birthday Celebration Reception" at the Okura Prestige Taipei. With many Taiwanese dignitaries in attendance, six local governments of Japan exhibited its booths and introduced their regional attractions such as food, local specialties, among others.

In Tonga, Japanese abacus donated by Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture, are used in elementary school math classes. Ambassador Munenaga of Japan to Tonga, visited Ono City and exchanged views with the Mayor of the city toward deepening their exchange.

Osaki Town in Kagoshima Prefecture has been promoting exchanges with Republic of Trinidad and Tobago as a Host Town, and the ambassador Matsubara of Japan to Republic of Trinidad and Tobago visited Osaki Town to exchange views for the Japan-CARICOM Friendship Year 2024.
