New Discoveries Shining in the Ancient Capital of Nara to the World! New English Slogan of Nara City "Old History, New Discovery”


Nara City released an English slogan in July 2023. Nara City expects that this slogan, which was created by the mayor, city officials, and facilitators, as well as high school students from Nara city, will help to increase returning visitors to Nara from around the world and promote citizen’s understanding of Nara's charms.
Story of the "Satsuma Students Program" of 21st century


After the Bombardment of Kagoshima in the middle of 19th century, Satsuma domain recognized the need for modernization and sent young students to the United Kingdom. The students contributed greatly to the modernization of Japan. And now Kagoshima Prefecture re-implements the student exchange program to the UK as the "Satsuma Students Program."

Oita and Cameroon: 20 years of friendship since the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan

Pears Connect Matsudo City with Constanza City, Dominican Republic


Ambassador TAKAGI of Japan in the Dominican Republic, visited Constanza City which has a partnership agreement with Matsudo City. The two cities have constructed strong relationships since the Pear project in the Dominican Republic started. Also, he participated in the harvest festival which introduces Japanese culture.
