G7 Foreign Ministers Visit Itsukushima Shrine



On April 10, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who is currently visiting Hiroshima Prefecture to attend the G7 Hiroshima Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and other G7 Foreign Ministers and delegations visited Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located on Miyajima Island in Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Foreign Minister Kishida, other G7 Foreign Ministers and delegations received an explanation from a Shrine representative of the Shrine’s history and culture, including the world famous O-Torii Gate, and enjoyed a performance of traditional Bugaku court music and dance at the Shrine. G7 Foreign Ministers showed their high interest on Itsukushima Shrine, and during the visit, Secretary Kerry and other Ministers took photo with their smartphones.
