Prime Minister Abe Receives a Courtesy Call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey
On June 22, for about 20 minutes from 11:40 a.m., Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Mevlut CAVUSOGLU, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, who is visiting Japan upon invitation by the Minister for Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.
At the outset, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe welcomed the visit of Minister Cavusoglu, and expressed his respect to the leadership of President Erdogan shown in the recent amendment of the Turkish Constitution.
In response, Minister Cavusoglu said that Turkey attaches importance to the friendship between Turkey and Japan. He also said that he would like to deepen the bilateral relations in all fields, mentioning projects of cooperation such as Turkish and Japanese Science and Technology University and Sinop Nuclear Power Plant.
In addition, both sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East.
