Attendance to the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Palestine
From September 21st to 26th, Mr. OKUBO Takeshi, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, visited New York, the United States to attend a series of meetings during the High-level Week of the UN General Assembly and exchanged views with his counterparts.

- Ambassador OKUBO attended the ministerial meeting and senior officials' meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) for Palestine. Ambassador OKUBO introduced Japan's unique initiatives, including the "Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD)," and held discussions on responding to the financial crisis confronting the Palestinian Authority and strengthening coordination with relevant parties toward the rebuilding of Gaza.
- Ambassador OKUBO also attended the One Year Anniversary of the New York Declaration and Comprehensive Plan Summit-level meeting co-hosted by Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Ministerial Meeting on Early Recovery of Gaza, co-hosted by Egypt, France, Germany, and the European Union (EU), among others.
- Furthermore, during this visit, Ambassador OKUBO exchanged views with his counterparts, including H. E. Mr. Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative for Gaza of the Board of Peace, H. E. Dr. Ali Shaath, Chief Commissioner of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), H.E. Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and Mr. Christophe BIGOT, EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, stating that Japan would continue to play an active role, in coordination with relevant countries and organizations, in order to promote the implementation of the “Comprehensive Plan” and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
