Dr. Riad Malki, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Minister Hayashi expressed his pleasure at meeting with Minister Malki for the first time, and stated that, referring to State Minister for Foreign Affairs Yamada’s visit to Palestine, Japan shares with Palestine the importance of realizing Middle East Peace based on a “two-state solution”. He also stated that Japan will continue to support Palestine and Palestine refugees through its own initiatives such as the “Corridor for Peace and Prosperity”.
  2. In response, Minister Malki referred to the increasingly active bilateral visits from Japan to Palestine including the recent one by Mr. Nishimura, Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, and stated that Japan’s efforts toward the Middle East Peace such as the “Corridor for Peace and Prosperity” and the Jericho Agro-Industrial Park (JAIP) are policies based on excellent visions. He expressed his deep gratitude to various assistance provided by Japan.
